    INSTRUCTIONS

Place the film canister lid on an old block of wood. With the nail and hammer punch a hole into the center of the lid. It is best to do this on the floor. Just hit it hard enough so the nail goes through and pulls out easy. Next cut your cord or ribbon to a 32 inch length and fold in half. Fold your little piece of wire in half too. You are going to use the wire to help thread your cord, or ribbon into the hole in the lid. Slip the wire over the cord at the fold, just give the wire a little twist, but not tight. It will kind of look like a needle. Thread the wire and cord through the top of the lid. Remove the wire and tie a knot just above the fold of the cord, or ribbon. Slide the knot up to be snug against the inside of the lid. You are pretty much done. Decorate the canister with small sticker borders, or small stickers. Fill it with candy or tiny treasures. Put the lid on, and tie the two loose ends around your neck. You might need a little help with that.
The film canister necklace makes good party favors. Ask local photo centers if they have any discarded ones.
