Perfect Playdough

What You Will Need

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • A few to several drops of food coloring
  • Sauce pan
  • Stove
  • Parent help and supervision with the use of stove top.
  •

    INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all ingredients in order into the sauce pan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes thick and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan. It only will take two or three minutes. Place the playdough blob out onto countertop and knead it into a smooth texture. Be careful at first, it will be hot and will cool as you knead. Fill your empty sauce pan with warm water for easy clean up when you are done kneading. Store this playdough in an airtight container, or a ziplock bag. It will keep for quite some time. I like to keep mine in the fridge.

*Do use an old vinyl kitchen place mat as a work surface.
Don’t use the playdough on carpeted area’s.*

Make different colors. It’s an excellent project to add to a babysitting kit. Find plastic cookie cutters, knives and forks and a small toy rolling pin and your playdough kit is complete.

Play a game like pictionary, only sculpt out the words or phrases using the playdough.

Pre-made playdough can be used for an activity at a birthday party and as a fun take home party favor.
